MCBCreative in the News: Carson City Rotary Presentation

Brand building talk to highlight Carson City Rotary meeting

By Denise Clodjeaux — Local Rotarians will learn the importance of building a strong brand to compete in the current business environment at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. Mary Claire Boucher, branding expert and founder of MCBCreative, will demonstrate the importance of building a visual brand identity. The public is invited to attend the meeting which takes place Tuesday, Feb. 18, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.

Boucher says consistent, thoughtful branding impacts every aspect of a business or service organization.  “Your brand directly affects your bottom line. Consistent execution of a brand is key to the success of a company or organization for several reasons,” she explains. “Each time your audience sees your logo, colors, fonts, and representative imagery, they have an opportunity to know who you are as a brand. When you speak to that audience with a consistent voice, they begin to have trust in who you are and that they can believe in the promises that you are making to them.”

Boucher founded her business four years ago to assist businesses with their visual brand identity. Her primary aim is to give businesses the brand they deserve — one that outshines their competition and accelerates their growth.

“One of the biggest mistakes I see in branding is the misunderstanding that a logo is a brand. Your logo is not your brand, it is so much more than that!” she says. “If a business starts with a logo before they have  considered their mission, values, and their ideal customer, they will miss the mark on all of the marketing efforts that follow.”

Waiting until you feel ready sounds responsible. But in reality, readiness rarely arrives with certainty. In this February reflection, we explore the confidence gap many growing businesses experience—and how under-positioning quietly communicates more than you intend.
